Christmas Cupcakes!

It's December, and the countdown to Christmas is real and so I took it upon myself to get my bake on and add some Christmas spirit to our Student House!

I used this recipe and added 2 tsp of cinnamon to add a little bit more Christmas too them!

I added some Cadbury buttons at this point (as we had them in the house) but I think it would have been really nice with some white chocolate buttons!

I did intend for the icing to be a bit more red, and Christmassy! However, it went a little pink (despite me adding like half the bottle of food colouring) so next time I think I'll go for the green!

Obviously you can add whatever you like on top but we didn't have much so I splashed out and got some of these Christmassy sugar decorations (and some Cadbury snowbites - however very few managed to make it onto the cakes!

Anyone been getting the urge to bake recently? What's your Christmas go-to??

  1. Absolutely love baking during Christmas time, just feels like it gives just that extra touch to the jolly season ;) my go-to is probably saffron buns (don't know if people outside Scandinavia have it?)

    1. Me too, it's always fun to do and decorations make everything a bit more festive. It's also great to do with family and friends (and of course the eating part is pretty good too!). Ooh they sound good, never tried them though here in England - what have they got in them?

    1. They were so good! - but the red food colouring went pink instead so I feel that green would have gone a bit better and bit more Christmassy.

    1. Thanks Filippa. They're sweet aren't they, just Morrisons; although Sainsburys do the cutest mini gingerbread men you can sprinkle on top! I bought Cadbury snow bites to put on top too - they're delish!
