Shit When's Father's Day!?*

So Father's, men in general (in my family anyway) are THE WORST to buy for! They just don't want anything! So I've had to up the anty and go looking for something different this Father's Day.

Ok, not going to lie, I completely forgot about Father's Day - in my defense final year exams kind of took up most of my attention - until I got a lovely email from UncommonGoods telling me about their site. Upon checking it out I loved some of their ideas and thought some were perfect for those dads who are tough nuts to crack when it comes to finding the perfect gift!

It''s not just Father's Day gifts too, they've got a whole range of cool products (kind of reminds me of NotOnTheHighStreet (which I also love), including gift ideas for anniversaries and lovely wedding related gift ideas. Here's also the full page for more ideas for men, before I go on with a few of my faves.

What also impressed me when nosing around the site is that they're really committed to environmental and social sustainability. Being a 'B' Corporation their 'Uncommon Mission' involves acting ethically in terms of their employees, providing them a good wage and benefits as well as dignity and respect, as well as environmentally through their focus on online service as well as using recycled and organic products! They also started a Better To Give Programme several years ago, whereby with each purchase the customer can choose a non-profit organisation in which the company will donate $1 to (and by doing so have now donated over $1million!)

So since I was hooked on this, let's get into some of the pressies! I've only talked about ideas for cooking enthusiasts and general ones, as the post was getting insanely long with all the ideas I was picking out but there was so many different products, for gardeners, drinkers, art, home, all sorts so if you're stuck with ideas, definitely go and check it out!

For Gardeners

For Chefs

My dad has recently got quite into cooking and loved the Curry Subscription I got him a few years ago where they give you the spices and ingredients that maybe are difficult to find in supermarkets or ones that you literally need a pinch of so don't want to go buying a whole jar unless you know you'll like the food - if you get me? So these Cooking Kits (£16.38) and Spice Collection (£21.45) really jumped out at me, they make for such a great gift because they're so easy to use and make for some really delicious meals!

For Drinkers

Classic 'Men Stuff'

Now this may or may not be good for a Father's Day gift but here's just a couple of bits that stood out to me and might be useful for the dad who may or may not have his life together in terms of little bits and bobs. Hygiene kits like this are always great and this one includes a couple of extra bits, the classic dad probably wouldn't ever think of using like body oil and lip scrub, and since everything is organic it would be great quality stuff that he might just love! There's also a beard kit (£33) which I thought was great and a handy, portable Fix It Kit (£24.57), pretty useful for the handy man!

For Art-Lovers

Any of these ideas jump out at you? I always find men the hardest to buy for but love finding websites with different kinds of ideas that could really work! Anyone else have this problem? Find anything that has gone down well in your family? I'm welcome to ideas!!

  6. Oh my god the title of this post is literally me. I'm so good with remembering Mother's Day but then when it's Father's Day my brain is just like nope. My poor dad! haha.

There's some great ideas here but I gotta say, my dad is a ridiculously picky man! I might be able to get him a chef/food related gift although I feel like because it's winter in Australia he may just like a nice warm man robe (is that a thing?) instead haha.

    1. I know! Mother's Day is right after my mums birthday so I always remember but there always seems a lot going on in June so I always forget Father's Day!

Ooh that sounds nice! Yes something nice and comforting for winter is always good!
